Erlan A. Idrissov 

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Born on April 28, 1959, graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (International economic relations), Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of USSR (history of foreign politics and international relations). Speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, French languages.

Has been on diplomatic service since July 1985 in Consular Service, Protocol and Political, Press and Information and Foreign Economic Relations branches of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Mr. Idrissov has held posts of 1st Secretary of Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UN, Head of the Department of America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Assistant of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, First Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since June 2002 – Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Sweden, The Kingdom of Norway and the Republic of Ireland.
